Local Attractions.
Kirkleatham Village.
Kirkleatham Village dates back to the Doomsday Book.
It is Located 1 1/2 Miles out of Redcar Connected
by Cycle Routes via Kirkleatham Lane and Woods to
West Dyke Road, Plantation Road.
The village cottages date from 1700's and St Cuthberts Church
stands in the centre of the village.
Kirkleatham Old Hall Museum has local and village history with
displays of local fishing, ironstone mining and Sir James Knott
Redcar last Offshore Lifeboat. There is a Cafe open during
museum opening times.

Kirkleatham Owl Centre
Kirkleatham Owl Centre was opened in 1990 to show
Owls and Birds of Prey to the public in a safe and
bird/owl friendly enviroment.
The centre has expanded it's exhibits with the introduction
of Meerkats, Bugs and Rodent exhibitions.
The Owl Centre and Staff are dedicated to conserving and
helping rescued injured Owls and Birds.
The Staff work very hard to make a visitors experience
very enjoyable they host outdoor flying exhibitions with
the owls.

Zetland Lifeboat Museum.
Zetland Lifeboat is the Worlds Oldest Existing Lifeboat,
Built in 1802 and in service until 1852 saving over 500 lives.
The museum has an extensive photograph collection of Redcar
on show along with models of ships and boats.
There is also a display of traditional fishermans cottage room
which helps to shows life in the 1800's.
The Original Drum used in the 1800's to call out the Volunteer
Lifeboat Crew is also on display.
Admission Free. opening months May to October.

Saltburn
Saltburn is 5 miles South of Redcar it is accessible
via Cycle Routes through Marske-by-the Sea.
The town is built on a cliff top with many shops,cafes
and restaurants.
The Cliff Lift built in the late 1800's is Water Balanced
which connects the town with the Lower Promenade and Pier
which also dates to the late 1800's, it is one of the last pleasure
piers on the East Coast.
Valley Gardens is accessible from the Lower Promenade with
wide open spaces for picnics and a Minature Railway running
services in the Valley grounds throughout the summer.
Valley Gardens Italian Gardens is connected to the Tea Rooms
Garden which attracts wild birds and squirrels.
